Welcome to Happy’s Circus

As it became clear that covid restrictions would most likely not be lifted in time for the school to hold a summer fair, we began to look around for an alternative event.  One which would enable the School Association to begin to claw back much needed funds lost during the 18 months of lockdown and, more importantly, bring the school community together to enjoy an experience like no other.  Well, I can safely say we found it all in Happy’s Circus.

From the initial booking all the way through to the final curtain call, the enquiry team at the end of my phone calls and email correspondences were fantastic. Having never put on such an event before I was more than a little apprehensive. However, I felt supported every step of the way.
To promote ticket sales, we used an online ticket platform which made the whole process far easier to manage, I would recommend this.  The circus was mentioned in assemblies and I made a short promotional video with some images of Happy’s Circus which went home to parents as part of the virtual school newsletter. That was all the promotion we needed to sell every single ticket in just 2 weeks.

The day the circus arrived caused much excitement, the children could see the big top out on the school field. With everything set up and in place, the whole school was able to have a short visit to the circus in the afternoon to whet the appetite. The squeals of delight were music to our ears after all that time spent in lockdown seeing children being children with their friends was magic!

We could have had a BBQ or bar to make more money, however, we opted to simply run a tuck shop with some ice creams on the side.  Nevertheless, the event still raised well in excess of £3000.00.  However, the money raised was not the highlight, the highlight will remain with us (until the next Happy’s Circus event that is). The best bit about Happy’s Circus are the memories left, which will stay with our children for ever. “The day the circus came to our school”.  Children old and young, (my teenage daughter became the little girl I remember her to be before hoodies and headphones took over) laughing and oohing in awe.  Every single comment from parents since the event has been one of thanks and gratitude. Happy Circus came to St Micheal’s School Stewkley on Saturday 13th May.

It was a truly wonderful afternoon. The Circus performance was brilliant, they got both adults and children laughing and the acrobats were astounding, definitely 5 star entertainment!
Everyone from school was very impressed and left ‘Happy’. We also managed to raise a lot of much needed funds to help with the school playground makeover project. I would recommend inviting Happy Circus to your school, it’s a novel, exciting and effective fundraiser.

I just wanted to email to pass on our thanks and to say how much of a success our event was. From the minute we booked Happy Circus we were thrilled with the level of service we received in support to get our event off the ground and also along the way.

On the day we were given clear instructions on when arrival would be and throughout the day the information we were provided with about set up and what we needed to do was fantastic.

The event itself was an even bigger success and had a real community feel to it. As well as raising £3,000 for the school, staff and families had a wonderful evening and everyone commented on how well organised it was and it being such a great event.

We have already booked again for 2024 and cannot wait.

I can’t recommend Happy Circus highly enough. We have used them twice for fundraising events at our school, once in 2018 and in 2021. Both times they were amazing! This time particularly, it was so lovely to hear all the kids (and adults) laughing after what has been such a tough time!

All their staff were incredibly helpful, especially Pippa who was fantastic on the day of our event. Please do consider Happy Circus if you are looking for a fun-filled fundraising event.

From the very first telephone call I felt that booking Happys Circus was going to be great. The efficiency with all the paperwork that was sent, the step-by-step approach allowed us to grow in confidence in putting on an event of this size outside which we had never done before. We received telephone calls a week before and then the day before and, on the day, letting us know what was going to happen, and it all went to plan exactly. The circus team worked extremely hard to help us run in a fun-loving safe way and our families absolutely loved it. The performers did everything possible to embrace everyone. I could have listed lots of comments from the families and these are just a few (below). When the circus left you would not have known they had been here after their stay overnight. We would thoroughly recommend them.
